I considered including details such as the ones you mentioned. But the main
reason for having this document is not really to inform, it's about getting
the people who want to get back to PocketPC off our backs :) I figured the
easiest way to do that is to just tell them what to do, rather than include
any technical explanations. I'm not saying that the answers shouldn't be
documented somewhere though - we probably need a separate page, maybe even a
full manual for the bootldr if someone wants to write one.

I guess you meant "48MB down to 32MB". It is necessary - bootldr will complain
about the image being too large if you don't do it. I thought the extra 16MB
was the asset image, but it saves this for you separately as well. I have to
admit to not fully understanding how BootBlaster works - I have only needed
to use it once myself, when I originally installed Linux on my iPAQ.
The asset image stuff should probably be documented as well, but it is less
important, as most people won't overwrite the asset partition when they
install Linux.

Yes. Uploading as .gz is better for two reasons: because it is faster, and
also because gzip includes a built-in checksum in the archive, so it is also
slightly safer.

Just the way it is I guess.

You're right, I have corrected this.
