Thanks a lot ! It turned out to be a problem connecting with
hyperterminal when I have active sync running at the same time. Even
though Active Sync is disconnected, somehow the establishment of
Active Sync and serial port blocks proper connection of hyperterminal.
(It's weird because Hyperterminal says it's connected to serial port
too....) But now I just rebooted the machine and configured the
active sync to be not connected to serial port, and hyperterminal
finally gave me the boot> prompt!
