Kevin,
Your problem is with the root partition only holding 32MB of data.
Try $ dd bs=1k count=32256 if=wince_image of=wince_image.new
It'll give you:
32256+0 records in
32256+0 records out
Transfer the new image to the iPAQ via minicom and the "load root" command.
After loaded, use the "boot wince" command.

Trying to restore wince (wince_image.gz size=15,628,236bytes) after
loading linux(ARM Bootloader/OPIE) and I get the following message. I
have looked throught the archives and have seen this question asked but
I have not seen an answer. Is it a brick at this point? Any help would
be appreciated.
