Hi Phil. Thanks for the reply.
As per the instructions on the page, I did a load flash 0x00c00000 but the
only departure to the explicit instructions were to load the whole 16meg
binary in one go using ymodem (which is the type of transfer asked for by
the bootloader) at this address.
My logic was that the (and a flash of realisation strikes) 0x00c0 address
would be the lowest address to start the flash from, but I realise now that
this may not be the case ( been a while since I used Hex and Binary
conversion and thinking!!).
I created the image from the Compaq restore file by using dd bs=32 skip=1
if=N whatever the file name was.nbf of=ce.img and then a dd bs=1024 skip=256
count=16128 if=ce.img of=flash_wince_np.bin to create the binary.
Have I started at the last 4 meg block and then overrun the bootloader? The
log I took from hyperterminal looks corrupted with previous entries littered
throughout, but the last few bits are as follows:
writing flash

Tried holding the action button while reseting, but no joy.

What command did you use before the ymodem upload? If it was "load root",
the situation should be recoverable. Only "load bootldr" has the potential
to make a brick.
Have you tried resetting with the action button held down?
