That's definitely a great idea and you should learn a lot doing so!
I checked that there is no serial port. So, you will have to do initial
kernel debugging with IrDA...

Sure, I'll be glad to help you, though I'll be very busy the next 4 weeks.
Did you read the http://free-electrons.com/articles/porting/
presentation? It should give you an overview of the porting process.
Then, once you get your device... go ahead! Create a mailing list, a
wiki page, look for specifications (I hope Jamey has details to share),
and have fun. I may be able to help as I know pretty well the developers
who ported Linux on the OMAP CPU, as we live in the same place, and as I
was working for TI last year.
