Hi,
I've got a 3850 with a HP extension sleeve (1 CF slot + extra battery).
I've been trying for some time unsuccessfully to upgrade the kernel from
familiar 0.7.2 stock (hh30) to the hh36. Every time I've upgraded it
begins to boot properly, then it can't find some modules, then it tries
to pull some modules in from hh30. After a while I get a login prompt
on the serial console, and Opie comes up, but there's no response on the
touchscreen and the console (minicom) is littered with "apm: can't read
battery status". Within 2 minutes, the console gets the message "SA
1100 Controller stopped" and the machine crashes.
I've gotten a little farther by hiding or deleting the hh30 modules
directory. Then it doesn't seem to crash right away. In this case I've
managed to manually load the modules to enable the touchscreen, however,
the extension pack and lots of other stuff still don't work and if I try
to enable something as exotic as networking it crashes right away.
This doesn't seem to be entirely normal. Anyone have insight into this
problem? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Eric
