Hello,

I'm working with a 5550 iPAQ, and Bootloader3600 that I downloaded in the tarball for Familiar.

I'm trying to put wince back onto the iPAQ. Unfortunately my saved wince_image.gz file is corrupted, or at least there's something wrong with the file when I try to verify it using WinGZip.

I followed the instructions to restore wince using an update from HP on this page:

http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/h5400-port/5/0562.html

This is a transcript of what I got after I transferred the file, after it verified the file and did all the "Erasing sector" stuff:

        verifying ...
        calculated crc32 = 0xC6A9957E
        desired crc32 = 0xC6A9957E
        formatting ... done.
        boot>

A friend told me to ls before trying to boot wince:

        boot> ls
Scanning all of flash for your JFFS2 convenience. Est Time: 6-12 seconds!
        build_list: max = 01FBFFBC
        ...........................Offset = 00166078
        ...........................
        .................................
        dir entries = 00000000
        frag entries = 00000000
        +4 increments = 000D3BCB
        +file_offset increments = 00000002

This is what I got when I tried boot wince:

        boot> boot wince
        Disabling LCD controller

The screen on the iPAQ went black, and then I don't get anything. I've tried pushing the reset button, and I've tried a hard reset, and nothing happened. I can still access the bootloader by pressing the joypad and the reset switch.

Any ideas on what I should do next?

        Many thanks,

        Diane
