My ipaq h5455 which was not charging in earlier posts is now dead. I
have tried the reset + power method and still nothing. Not even a
flicker. Tried leaving batteries out too for a while and nothing.

Help please!.

Don't worry the h5xxx series are truly dreadful with power. Sometimes it's
taken me as much as week to bring my 5550 back to life. You just need to try
lots of times. Remove battery and power, and put it back in, try resetting.
Sometimes leaving it plugged in for a while (even though doesn't seem to be
charging) helps. Sometimes leaving it charging then removing and reconnecting
power again works. One thing I have found that does seem to significantly
increase the chance of it recovering is to have the it connected into a
terminal on a pc. I have absolutely no idea why this should make a
difference, but seems to increase the chance of being able to get it to boot,
at which point you can charge it up again. Note that the first time through
it usually hangs part way through the boot sequence if you having something
plugged into the serial port, but it usually charges at least. Another note,
you can't trust the values it gives you on the amount of power left. For a
while mine reported 9% for ages, even when seeming to be fully charged.
So keep trying! Hopefully it isn't completely dead.

Edward
