Hi!
After some bug reports and some minor changes, here are some news about
kbdd.
First of all, thanks to Phil Blundel, kbdd now has a CVS repository at
cvs.handhelds.org/cvs/apps/kbdd/
Latest sources should be checked in for public consumption.
The latest kernel packages (hh36.11 and later) also now have the uinput
module in the input-modules package, so please install that one.
Kbdd now also has a new commandline option for specifying the serial
interface device, i.e. "-p /dev/ttySA0" or whatever. This way also IR
keyboards like the Belkin one should work soon.
Kbdd has also been tested succesfully on H3900 iPAQs now.
The bad news is that the test on H5550 still fails. Reason seems to be
that the serial line transceiver is switched off as long as no other
active signal is detected on the serial port. For connecting to a PC
this is no problem since the PC will provide at least some signal
somewhere. But a serial keyboard will not unless it gets power from one
of the iPAQ's lines.
So basically I have to dig into the H5550 serial driver and see how this
possibly can be fixed. Or does anyone else have an idea?
So far for now ;)
Oh, almost PS ;)
I have started a keymap for German keyboard layout with working Alt-Gr
key! But the iPAQ buttons don't work anymore... grmpf... but we are
getting closer!
