Still the old problem: Bahia driver does not work

I followed the instruction at
http://www.handhelds.org:8080/wiki/WindowsXPUsbNetworkHowTo
and the additional tips by tvjames to download the non-expiring version.
I also installed the familar 0.7.2+unstable16 such that the usb-eth is
provided by kernel module version hh36.8

However, the WinXP device manager keep posting "unknown device" under USB
subtree, and choosing "upgrade driver" for it will result in error message
"specified location does not contain driver" even I am sure the INF, SYS,
SIG files are there.

Finally after deleting the registry entries under
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_0000&Pid_0000], I
managed to install the driver by "Add Hardware Wizard".

Now I have an "Bahia Network Driver" under Network Adapter, and an "Unknown
Device" under USB controller (yes it is still there!)
The details in Bahia Network Driver are "This device cannot start. (Code
10)"

OK, I am in stuck again...
Did i miss anything??
