[iPAQ] Looking for iPAQ 36xx hardware guru...Strange problem !

Hi there,

This iPAQ mailing list seems dead, but anyhow, I'll try.

So finally, I successfully rebuilt with a new screen my iPAQ 3650, I have
secured all the solder of the display connector, but I still have a < flip
screen > problem that is different from everything I have ever read about.

Before, I used to have the "common" flip-screen problem, that is, my screen
was sometimes flipping (mirror effect) and bending the case and playing the
screw always solved the problem.

This time, it's trickier: If I switch on the iPAQ and the screen is fine,
then it will be fine for an indeterminate number of time, whatever I do the
iPaq, bending it, throwing it into the air, etc. The picture will stay fine.
Unfortunately, if the screen is flipped from the moment I switch the iPaq
ON, then I know that the only solution is to switch it off, then switch it
on, doing this until the screen is nice.

Obviously, it looks like an initialization problem. But who is to blame ??
The ARM CPU ? The Sony graphical controller chip ? The display itself ?

I know there are some "test" pin on the display connector (from test1 to
test6), and I think they control this kind of behaviour. but I'm not sure.

Anyone ??

Thanks !!
