Hi, I have an ipaq 3630 which i aquired from a friend. It has been plugged
into a mains cable with incorrect polarity, and as a result a component
has become burnt. The component in question is located on the opposite side
of the board to the power adapter socket and is in the bottom right (it
is the most bottom right component on the board). I believe it to be a capacitor,
but need to find out the value of it. I was hoping someone here might be
able to help in telling me exactly what I need to replace it with.

Also, although I plan to run familiar on it eventually, I think it may need
to be reflashed - apparently before it was burnt plugging it in simply made
it make a beeping noise briefly and then the screen to go white - does this
mean it needs re-flashing? Does HP still offer the free flashing service
that compaq used to run? I dont really want to have to fit a Jtag but I
suppose I may have to in order to bring this ipaq back to life.

Thanks,

Ed Robbins.
