I agree with Shawn.
Though HP didn't have specifications, the h4100-port folks opened their
device, took pictures of the board, posted them on the net. Then, people
started to identify the chips and tried to find specifications from the
manufacturers. They also found that the h4xxx devices had the same chips
as other devices (in particular the h39xx and h19xx series), making it
possible to reuse drivers developped before.
So, I believe too that h4xxx will have pretty good Linux support (except
perhaps trouble with mmc/sd).
