[iPAQ] Remapping suspend button to another key

Hi,

how can I completely remap the functionality of the suspend/resume
button of an Ipaq 3850 to another button e.g. the calendar button?
Is there a way to do that by just changing some settings or do i have
to recompile the kernel?

Background:

I've got an Ipaq 3850 running Familiar/Opie 0.7.2.
Unfortunately the suspend-resume button broke down recently
and HP only offers to repair it for 230 EUR since
it has no warranty anymore.
Currently I cannot suspend the Ipaq, so I let it run all the
time with only the LCD switching off.
