[iPAQ] Followed instructions; have a brick?

Hello,

I followed the "discharge completely" instructions at
http://www.handhelds.org/projects/h3800.html on a friend's iPAQ 3835.
The unit discharged and now will not power back up. I finally managed
to figure a way to press reset while hooked up to AC power, and now it
will glow solid amber when in the cradle, but still will not power up
nor appear to charge. Help!
