I might be dead wrong here (and I feel specially bad because I was one of the
persons who replied last week), but I think that Familiar loads the usbnet (or
usb-eth) module to give network over usb.
When you plug your iPaq, if you do a "ifconfig -a", do you see a new interface
appear? (maybe "usb0" or "usbf")
If you do, just give it a "local" IP address, give one to the interface on iPaq
on the same subnet, and use ssh to login on the iPaq :)
