You may vent some of you spleen in this direction. :)
Sadly I would have liked to be further along than I am now on a bullet
proof install. Being away on leave, and going to the conferences in Atlanta
have taken up a good chunk of time.

Yes. I have a few deas on how I can do this. One of them is to setup memory
so that it can load into RAM an arbitrary size image and run it, currently
it is limited to 56K.

Right. You are talking about 'run from RAM' implementation.
This is a secondary goal for me that will probably fall out once I can run
an
arbitrary sized image into RAM.
I have had a cursory look at the cyace code that is used to boot a linux
kernel
into ram and run it. This techinque looks promising but the MIPS chips
don't have a MMU and the ARM does so it will need to be slightly different,
though
the principle will be the same.

My plan is to be able to read from a CF card and write directly to flash.
More details to be availble soon. Dual booting is not a priority for me
but will probably be a nop.

Point 1 is something that I plan to work on addressing with a better
installation
procedure.
I plan to post more details in the next few days.
