Dropping all messages without message-id, and preventing all messages
with empty SMTP reverse-path from getting to the list, is a fairly
trivial way of filtering out 99% of it.
All you're left with then is the occasional copy of the virus which came
through a relay which actually added a Message-ID for it, and perhaps a
bounce from a machine which is so incompetently run it not only replies
to faked sender of a virus, but does so with a _real_ message instead of
a bounce message.
