Hello,
I have a 3870, of which I allowed the battery to discharge fully.
Now, I am unable to wake it up.
I applied power through the AC adapter/dongle adapter according to other
advice/instructions I found on the list:
-Leave unpowered for quite some time
-Power for two hours
-Unplug for an hour
-Reset (tried both hard and soft)
-Plug in power for five minutes
-Reset again (and again, tried both hard and soft reset)
To no avail. Could my battery be toast? Would cracking the case open and
disconnecting/reconnecting the battery be of help?
I would feel better if I knew what the above process actually does: Are
we resetting something about the state of the battery? Are we losing the
ability to charge the battery because it is discharged too fully to
allow the controller to engage?
I have another 3870, if it would help matters, I could swap the
batteries between the two. But I would still need to know how to revive
the first one.
Any advice is greatly appreciated,
