Hello,
it looks like some kind people from belcarra.com made another windows
network usb driver for iPAQ. They contacted me for beta testing and said
that the driver will be free (as beer) for personal usage and without
expiration date.
I can confirm the driver works on my iPAQ 3870 with Windows 2000. If
anyone wants to test the beta version, please contact Stuart Lynne at
sl@belcarra.com. People with 39x0 and newer units are welcomed.
I had to manually uninstall bahia driver prior to installing this
driver. You can do it like this (Win2K):
- with ipaq in a cradle run Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device
manager. Find the Bahia driver under network adapters, right click it
and select uninstall.
- remove ipaq from cradle
- search winnt\inf\ for string "VID_049F&PID_505A" and remove the bahia
.inf and .pnf file (my files were named oem10.?nf)
- put ipaq in a cradle and verify that it is detected as unknown device
and select cancel on new hardware wizard dialog
- remove ipaq
- install belcarra driver
The driver did not crash for me so far, but your mileage may vary.
