Arthur,
I have installed the rc1 version of familiar with opie (and upgraded
everything once) on my 3975 as well. The only real problems I've had are
as follows:
The microphone doesn’t work
Different sleeves exhibit wildly different behavior in conjunction with
802.11b network interfaces (i.e some work great, others crash the iPaq)
Problems you have that I don't:
I haven't tried USB networking, as I've gone with 802.11b
The serial connection is buggy, but works fine when you aren't trying to
use a wireless network card in a sleeve at the same time
The suspend/resume button works fine.
So honestly, you have what sounds like cockpit error. I would install
from the rc1 release that Jamey put out not too long ago, and then
upgrade the kernel and the modules to the latest and greatest. Then, as
you have problems, give me enough info to try and reproduce the problem.
Andy

Subject: [iPAQ] A few bugs on the H3975
Yo, i installed Familiar 0.7 on to my H3975... and found some NASTY
bugs:
If i hit the power button it wont suspend the unit, it will halt it.
if i supend via the opie suspend button, upon resume the kernel
crashes...
audio support works sometimes and others none at all...
usb networking is not properly implemented, it dosent work AT ALL i cant
bring the interface up, hell it dosent even recognise the interface, and
oh joy i cant install a serial interface! :pī
Linux roolz
