Jamey,
Thank you very much for the response. I have managed to use the NVRD
instructions at http://www.savan.com/erez/nvrd.html to use some spare RAM as
a nonvolatile disk which is good (and cheaper than doing a hardware
upgrade).

I do have one other quick question for you, if you aren't too busy to take a
glance at it...

I am now trying to apply packages to the /mnt/nvrd file system that I have
created (as I have run out of space on the / root partition). For some
reason (after setting up /mnt/nvrd as a destination in the ipkg software
utility under opie) the files will down load but NOT appear under the PIM,
Application, etc tabs. The files exist on the nvrd partition but do now
seem to be linked back to those pakages previously installed on the root
partition. i.e. I cannot run them.

I have tried some obvious things like making symbolic link on the root
partition in the hope that it would fool the device into thinkint the files
are on the / partition, I have clicked the "link to root" check box in the
software installer and tried installing every which way. Unfortunately I
haven't been able to find many help files about the ipkg installation
process.

I hope you can help - or at least point me in the right direction.

Best regards,
a

The bootldr makes /dev/mtdblock/1 be as big as it can be, given the
flash size. You can get the flash increased at
