What he said was that the main difference is that the 5400 series use
the MediaQ 1100/32 chip.

I've also seen that the GMate's Yopy uses the same chip, thus the
drivers for linux already exist (although they've been written for the
kernel version 2.4.2 and that the USB host part of the MediaQ driver
seems to be missing, as this feature isn't used in the Yopy3000).

I think that it would be a really interresting thing for both the iPaQ
linux and GMate developpers to start working together :

On iPaQ's side : it will help GNU/linux being ported to iPaQ 5400
faster.
On Yopy's side : it will help familiar (for example) being ported to the
Yopy, as a really up to date and complete distribution is what this
device currently misses the most, in my point of view.
