[iPAQ] Purpose of /mnt/ramfs ????

A newby question for the wizards.

In the Opie system info screen it shows the following.

Int. Storage jffs2 16128
Used 15716kn Available 412kb

RAM disk /mnt/ramfs 15376
Used 64kb Available 15312

CF Card /mnt/hda vfat 125162
Used 91746 Available 33416

Can comebody tell me what the /mnt/ramfs is used for and why it seems to be
used so little. I thought it might be some kind of swapper thing so I
started up as many apps as I could but it didn't change. So now I'm
thinking that I can install apps into it. Is this so?.....
