Hey folks,
I've been having some problems with an MMC card given to me for christmas.
Here's the pertinant details:
Simpletech 128 MMC Card, formatted as vfat or ext2 or any other fs
Compaq IPAQ 3870
Familiar 0.6.1
Linux Kernel 2.4.18-rmk3-hh21
Opie 0.9.1-snapshot (January 7, 2003)
The card seems to work fine for smaller files (i.e. I can copy and open these
files), but for large files (such as music files) it doesn't.
When reading these files I get something similar to behaviour that has been
seen previously with MMC cards (irq timeouts, etc) as well as the following
message, repeated at fairly regular intervals:
end_request: I/O error, dev fe:01 (mmc), sector 184
bread in fat_access failed
and said irq timeouts:
mmc_h3800_irq_timeout: irq_mask=0000 status=0x2000 (END_COMMAND_RESPONSE )
Request info:
index 0
cmd 24
arg 0x00150400
rtype 1
nob 0
bl_len 512
buffer c2809800
result 0
I can format and access this card normally from another iPAQ machine with
WinCE installed on it, as well as accessing it through Linux using a USB card
reader.
I've attempted to use the fix described here:
http://handhelds.org/pipermail/ipaq/2002-August/015292.html
to no avail.
Any suggestions? Should I return the card for another brand? If so, which
brands of 128 MB MMC cards have people had good luck with?
Thanks for any help you can give!
Matthew Bardeen
