[iPAQ] After wince restore, iPaq no more recognize battery

Dear frineds of iPaq, Linux and Compaq

I have an iPaq 3870 nine month old and it wont load the battery under wince.

What did I do?
First I installed Familiar 0.6 (and 6.1 later) with unstable opie, worked
fine. Then I restored wince throught the wince_image.gz created by the
bootblaster (I followed the instructions on
http://familiar.handhelds.org/releases/v0.6.1/install/install.html respective
http://www.handhelds.org/projects/wincerestoration.html).
But wince doesn't load the battery anymore. So I was wondering if the iPaq
Battery is bricked and I went back to Linux and it worked. So I choose to
restore WIN CE from the Compaq Rom Update (instructions from
http://www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/Restoring%20Windows%20CE%20from%20the%20Compaq%20iPAQ%20Update).
And it wasn't succesful either.
So I also get fruther and tried ist with host11.exe (on the same page), no
success.

So what are the symptons:
- orange led doens't blink (but it does when running selfcheck, so the led
itself is ok)
- if I remove the iPaq from cradle it turns off after about 10s, ressing
reset reactivates it for another 10s and so on
- in the 'Stromversorgung' (german for the Power App in System Control) it
shows 'Verbleibender Akkustrom' (Remaining Power) Unknown.

I tried hard reset, soft reset, even installing the english rom, no succes.

If I try to use Compaqs official RMO Update Tools, it fails. This is because
something change my Model Name to ¢§°#§@§ (some weird characters) instead if
IPAQ 3800.

I already searched google, google groups, handhelds.org inclusive mail
archives and found nothing that could solve my problem.

So do you know any solution?
