[iPAQ] ROM Upgrade Failure

Someone suggested to me that your group may have a solution for my problem.
Well, here it goes...
I was running SP22898, upgrading my H3600 to the latest ROM version (2.20),
when I received error message 105 (open com port). My com port was working
fine, as I had just backed up my old ROM beforehand. Nevertheless, I kept
getting the same message each time I tried to run the upgrade. On my iPaq
all I was getting was a frozen grayed-out screen.
Searching the internet for a solution to my dilemma, I discovered what I
call the "Parrot boot up trick". I duplicated my wife's iPaq ROM onto a CF
card an tried to load that onto my unit. All was going great...but then I
received an error message at the very end stating "checksum is not
correct!". I keep getting this same message each time I try. Any
suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.
