The two choices you basically have are PCMCIA and CF cards.
Concerning the PCMCIA cards they are the "old monsters" using the old
chipsets and lots of power. But you will have to use the PCMCIA sleeve
with the extra battery with those anyway so I would estimate that the
on-air time is almost the same as with the CF cards. They use more
modern low power chipsets so that they can run form the low power CF
slot. As mentioned above I would estimate that the on-air time is the
same as with a PCMCIA WLAN card. But with a CF card the combination is
not that bulky and if you should consider running the "pack" from an
external power source then iPaq + CF is for sure the better solution.

The cards I have in use here are
- D-Link PCMCIA DWL-650, absoulutely no problem at all. Simply
plug'n'surf ;)- Socket Low Power WLAN Card, CF. Uses Spectrum24 chipset
but has no firmware built-in so you have to use a special driver (more
info on this and driver package available from me upon request). Range
and speed are very good with this card!

So from my experience I can recommend above mentioned cards. Also the
original Orinoco perform and behave very well (from what I heard).
