Hello, Mildred! Glad to see ASTI's getting into this. (Jamey: These
were the people I was working with!) =)

First, Linux runs quite happily on most models of the iPAQ, and it's
easily downloaded. WinCE restoration is also quite easy - just follow
the instructions on
www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/Restoring%20Windows%20CE%20from%20the%20Compaq%20iPAQ%20Update
(google: "restoring wince ipaq"). I can help you with that if you have
any problems.

You don't really have to worry about bricking the iPAQ unless you
touch the bootloader, and only if you mess up very badly (like I did
once!). Don't worry about that - the Compaq people (err, HP now) will
help you fix that.

If you need help setting up your cross-compiling environment, I can
drop by ASTI one of these afternoons or weekends. =) It's tons of fun
and I'm glad you're getting into it. The PC I was using when I was
there actually still has a cross compiler and a patched copy of the
Linux kernel, if you haven't wiped it yet.

Have fun!
