... and it's a completely other problem we see here.
The problem described on the Compaq trouble site is something about just the backlight not coming on again after certain amount of sleep time.
What we experience with Linux is that the complete device takes a long time to come up again, i.e. most obviously the LCD but also serial console.

So I suspect relly a Linux specifuc problem here since under PPC2000 this did not happen at all.
