[iPAQ] Restoring wince_image.gz taking hours

Hi,

I'd successfully loaded familiar 5.2 onto my iPAQ 3760, but then had
problems with loading other packages over the internet (no linux box and
no USB cradle). I decided to revert back to PPC while I waited for a CF
Ethernet card to arrive. I followed the instructions on
http://www.handhelds.org/projects/wincerestoration.html#gz_method to
restore the .gz file created before installing Linux, and the last
command I typed, about 3 hours ago, was 'load root' followed by the
xmodem transfer of the file wince_image.gz from the host to the iPAQ.

I'm getting .................. progress bars in HyperTerminal which
appear to indicate that it's still sending the file, but it's been a
long time now! The file is only 3.53MB, so I'm worried now that it's
stuck in some kind of loop. The file was backed up to the default
directory and automatically synchronised to Pocket_PC My Documents on
the PC (running Windows 2000 SP2 ActiveSync 3.5).

Any ideas? I don't want to end up with a brick, but I'm not sure how
long this should go on, and if I interrupt it what my recovery options
are.

Cheers,
