With the cradle or the hotsync cable you have to use a nullmodem cable,
not just a gender changer. This kind of nullmodem cables are generally
not available (connectors are wrong way arround). But compaq sells (at
last used to do for the 3[67]xx) a special cable (I don't know the name
or number, but it's not the hotsync cable).
