[iPAQ] trouble with SMC 10/100

Ok, here's the background. I took my ipaq on vacation with me assuming
that I could use it to transfer email. I have an SMC8041TX 10/100 card
that works beautifully at home. Now that I am on a 10Mbps network, when
it does connect it doesn't stay for long.

I'm using the pcnet driver for this card.

I get no error messages, but ifconfig shows the interface is still up.
Route shows that the routes are still there. The only way for me to know
that it's down is that traffic does not pass and the link light
disappears. I'm using the latest kernel but this happened with hh3 and
hh6 as well.

So here are my questions:

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone else have this card working
on 10Mbps? Are there any options that I can pass to the module that might
help? (I've looked through the PCMCIA Howto briefly but probably missed
something.)

Thanks,
  tim
