[iPAQ] How are keycodes handled? Buttons?

How is key entry (scribble and XV keyboard) being handled? I know barely
enough about how X handles keycodes to be dangerous, but I do know there is no
keysymdef.h file.

If Jim and/or Keith could post some info on how keys are currently handled and,
if the current method is a hack, how they will be handled when there is time
for the "right thing" it would help me become very dangerous.

While I'm asking, how are buttons being mapped? xev gives a lot of data, but I
have trouble figuring it out.

So far, v0.17b is a blast!
