[iPAQ] Rotating screen confuses xwd and x2x

Anyone tried making screenshots with xwd under v0.17? It is certainly
interesting. Take a look at these two images:

        http://www.east.isi.edu/~cworth/gfpoken-landscape.png

I generated each of these with "xwd -root > ~/image.dump", the only
change between the two screenshots is that the first was made with the
X server in portrait mode while the second was made in landscape mode.

You'll notice that both images are 320x320. The portrait screenshot
has the "correct" contents in the left-most 240x320 area -- a simple
crop gives the desired image.

The landscape screenshot is a little more interesting. It is only
correct in the rightmost 80x240 area. To get a decent landscape
screenshot, you would have to combine this with the leftmost 240x240
section of a portrait screenshot of the same screen.

Would it be worth trying to fix this. My guess is no, since the
current rotating code is a hack and doing it The Right Way is already
on the list. Any other programs this might affect other than xwd? I
can't think of too many other programs that care that much about root
contents.

PS. Also, another fluke with the current rotating setup. Using x2x
with a rotated screen can put things into a bizarre mode. It often
ends up "wanting" to be in a certain orientation and always reverts to
it just when I lift up the stylus. Either that or sometimes when I
slide the mouse across a window border the orientation starts toggling
as fast as it can. Pretty wild, but not extremely useful...

x2x still works quite well as long as I just leave my iPAQ in portrait
mode while it's docked.
