Yes, most WMs do allow something like this. In fact, the default twm
bindings include this function on Meta-button2. I should have started
by changing that binding to button1 rather than trying to popup a
menu. Although, using a button to popup a "main menu" probably makes
sense as well.
George, add this to your list of /etc tweaks, (after ALS of course):
init/etc/init.d/twmrc should have:
Button1 = m : window|icon : f.function "move-or-raiselower"
instead of:
Button1 = m : window|icon : f.iconify
I think that move is more universally useful than iconify, (especially
because move allows you to get the iconify button on the screen where
you can use it directly).
I'm quite sure that Jim already has a button mapped to meta so this
change should just work and will definitely be a Good Thing.
