I tried that. Just tried it again to be sure.

set my /boot/params file to
set linuxargs "noinitrd root=/dev/mtdblock1 init=/linuxrc console=null"

When I suspend and resume QPE, half the screen is covered with text.

P.S. I'm sending this back to the whole group, because I've been struggling
with this problem for quite some time now. And no one seems to have a
solution for it.
