[iPAQ] upgrading the bootloader from an older bootloader

I currently have bootloader 2.17.18 installed on my iPAQ (3850) and I
want to upgrade the
bootloader to a newer (newest?) I didn't find any reference on the
website on how to do that.
Is it worth the trouble to upgrade the bootloader?

PS - I don't mind losing what I already have installed on the PDA.
