Yeah I had already used the one from feeds/ipaq and it worked. Thanks
anyway, though.

P.S. Both of those images are the 1.15 ROM instead of the 2.15 ROM that
shipped on my 3870. I think the only difference is built-in bluetooth
support in the 2.15. Not a big deal since you can load Compaq's
bluetooth manager and service pack to get BT functionality. Does anyone
know if I'm right on this? (maybe not the best forum for that
question). Anyway, mine seems to be working fine on the 1.15 ROM.
Unfortunately, I'm waiting on a good dual-boot procedure to emerge
before I put linux back on cuz I'm not good enough with linux to go with
it on the desktop, too. I guess I'm still a $lave to M$ for the time
being....

Subject: [iPAQ] wince restoration....

trying to restore wince to my 3870 (just so I know I can do it) and it
doesn't seem to be working. I saved the wince_image.gz from BootBlaster
before I loaded Familiar. Now when i get to boot> prompt and load root
and xmodem upload the wince_image.gz, the xmodem transfer completes and
it begins checksumming the rom but it never stops with the dots on the
screen. It just continues endlessly. I even let it run all night. And
this morning when I reset the unit, guess what? It still loads linux.
So I read around on the handhelds.org site and I found a way to do the
same thing using ymodem but same result.

Also, is there some general info on the packages somewhere that would
give me some basic info on what to do with this thing once linux is up
and running? I think I may have jumped into this a little prematurely
since I'm pretty much a novice to linux in general. I did a
task-complete load but can't really figure out how to do much more than
click on the menu button and play around with the settings.

Any help greatly appreciated,
Earle Hartle
