[iPAQ] 3800 stowaway howto?

A 3800 series compaq stowawaykeyboard and a 3850 ipaq.

I may not be capable of understanding or following the handhelds
instructions.
ie respawning means next to nothing.

The ipaq has not been connected via the serial port for some time,
rather a network card.

I've tried the various help files without success, can someone expand
please?
i'll update the wiki as necessary.
