So close- it should be that top one, namely -

set linuxargs "noinitrd root=/dev/mtdblock1 init=/linuxrc"

It's not really a 'params' file, it's a bootloader script file.

For some reason. it's confusing. I'd suggest familiar include
/boot/params.sample with that string in it. Hmm, perhaps the
stowaway modules ipkg needs to check fo rthe existence of this
file, and create it as above if it does not exist?
