First, we are not support, we are community, there is no 'Technical Support
Contact' for OPIE. We're not in it for the buck and you are not a
customer/client. Now that that is established, let's see what we can do.

Here are some of the signs I see that suggest to me that you might be in a
little over your head.

OPIE is not a version of Linux, it is a GUI that sits on top of Linux.
Familiar is the distribution of Linux for your iPAQ, it is currently version
0.5.1. OPIE has not yet, reached version 1. Qtopia, however has.

I suspect you have not installed Familiar properly. For help in setting this
up, I recommend an IRC client such as mIRC or XChat. With that, connect to
irc.openprojects.net. You can find us in the #familiar room, also
#handhelds.org is a more active room with many of the same people.

If you have a 3835, Linux is perhaps not the best thing for someone of your
skill level. You see, Linux does not support all the hardware the Pocket PC
supports. Linux/OPIE is not yet a drop-in replacement for PocketPC 2002.
For you I would recommend getting more familiar with Linux on some standard
hardware first. That way, your iPAQ would be able to better interface with a
Linux desktop machine.

If the possibility of turning your iPAQ into a paperweight does not daunt you,
then consider the following links and join us in IRC.

http://familiar.handhelds.org/familiar/releases/v0.5.1/install/H3600/install.html
(also take note that Familiar does not officially support th 3800 series yet,
but many people have gotten it to work)

Sorry, if I sounded a little harsh.
