In Familiar v0.5.x, the bootldr is reading params-setting commands from the file /boot/params in the root filesystem. Edit this from Linux, adding the command you have above. The file /boot/params is a script file for the bootldr, in ascii.

The getty is controlled directly by the init program and /etc/inittab, so nothing is required in rc4.d. The getty on ttySA0 is enabled only in runlevels 2 and 3 for Familiar.
