I agree with you on both counts. The former issue is more important to me,
but I would think that the latter is more of a marketing issue for Compaq.
True, they don't exactly make money from Linux on the iPAQ, but they could
make even MORE iPAQ sales by promoting the iPAQ as a handheld Linux device
that is non-threatening to WinCE users. And get even more and better press.
At the moment, however, more sales and press for the iPAQ is a lot like coal
for Newcastle.
