When I boot with the CF Ethernet card (Socket LP-E) with v0.16, the
iPaq does not hang, but the CF card is not recognized.
% cardctl ident
Socket 0:
no product info available
% cardctl status
Socket 0:
3.3V 16-bit PC Card
function 0: [ready], [bat dead]
The ethernet card will not respond to ifconfig eth0 up and
gives the message "eth0: unkown interface: No such device"
I then eject the card (cardctl eject), remove and reinsert the
ethernet CF card. Getting messages from cardmgr[105] and
bitsy_pcmcia_configure_socket. Then the card is recognized:
% cardctl ident
product info: "Low Power Ethernet CF", "Socket Communications, Inc",
"Revision C 5V/3.3V", "08/27/98"
manfid: 0x0104, 0x0075
function: 6 (network)
% cardctl status
3.3V 16-bit PC Card
function 0: [ready]
At this point, ifconfig and network work as expected. I too go through
the ritual each time.
