I've just connected to the bootloader for the first time. I only had
one problem with the whole process, which could easily be alleviated if
you modify the online docs. Under installation, item 14 mentions using
HyperTerminal to connect to the iPaq. On my system (Win2K Pro),
HyperTerminal by default uses flow control. In order to "talk" to my
iPaq, I had to set up a connection with flow control OFF. This seems to
be working marvelously.
Now, for the question. In the online installation doc, you list two
commands for uploading the Flash as a method of backup, one for the 16Mb
version, the other for the 32Mb. I'm confused. AFAIK, my iPaq has 16Mb
of Flash ROM, and 32Mb of RAM. So when you refer to Flash, are you
referring to the Flash ROM?
Anyway, I'm doing the upload of the 16Mb chunk as I type this, and when
it's finished, I'll try the 32Mb command just to be safe.
TIA,
Dave Perkins
