Hi,

I have some problems and I dont no, if they are have one or more solutions.
My situation: I using familiar 0.5.1 and opie. I want to have the /root (my
home) at CF-Card. The CF- card has a ext2 filesystem. It will be mounted at
boot-time (sometimes not ;-( ) on /usr/local. I made a symbolic link from
/usr/local/root (what is at the CF-Card) to /root. The problem(s): If I have
the ipaq at the CF-sleeve the start of opie ar verry slow. The sequence from
boot prompt to opie takes minutes (3-4). Then I do something on opie, for
instance opening a konsole or another app (after I find the directorie
/usr/local is correctly mounted and the link to /root is working with the
opie-filemanager) opie crashes. I can make a ppp-connection, and with ssh I
can work at the ipaq.
Another problem, I dont no if there is a relationship between this problems:
I try to using leafnode (with mini-inetd) and slrn to read news at the ipaq.
The directory /var/spool/news also linked to the CF-Card at
/usr/local/var/spool/news. Using a ssh-connection all workes fine. If I using
it with opie or after starting opie I get the message that the .jnewsrc-file
are locked by a process. The process is opie. Whats that?
Now, I have no ideas, how I can realize my wishes: /root at the cf-card, a
working opie, news on ipaq with the news-spool on cf-card.

Any ideas?
Thanks!!

Kai
