Hello. I have successfully achieved the all time high of getting linux
and qtopia on my ipaq. However, I cannot get the thing to sync with my
laptop for the life of me. I have no serial port, so I've been using a
serial to usb converter (which has worked fine for a palm III)

With the serial to usb converter, I was able to use minicom and talk to
the palm with no problem. However, when it came to sending files via
"rz", it wouldn't send. So I got ppp up and running, I could ping the
laptop, but I cannot get it to forward through to the net. And, yes, I
tried usb networking to no avail either!

Well, it's great having linux on the ipaq, but now I want to actually be
able to sync it, and my winter break from college is over. So I decided
tonight to put back on the wince_image.gz that I created using the
Bootloader program under WinCE. Here's the funny thing though :( The
.gz is corrupt. I get the error "unexpected end of file". I checked
out the assets.gz, and that one was fine.

When I tried to "load root" with the wince_image.gz, it would download,
and then freeze after verifying (no doubt because of the faulty .gz"
Well, since the only way for me to transfer files to and from the iPaq
is to go to my friends house who has a real serial port (even though ppp
works?), I was wondering if you could lead me in the right direction as
to how to fix this. Would sending you a copy of the wince_image.gz file
help at all? Thank you for your time and help.
