[iPAQ] Making progress

I have succesfully made a connection with my ipaq, but I then lose it
straight away. I get the following message:

Serial connection established.
using channel 3
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS0
sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x1535b07e> <pcomp> <accomp>]
Modem hangup
Connection terminated.

Any thoughts?
