[iPAQ] screen flicker with Aironet wireless PCMCIA card

Hi. I've got an H3765 running Familiar 0.5.1, a PCMCIA sleeve, and an
Aironet PC4800 wireless card. Wireless works fine, but whenever
there's net traffic, there's a huge amount of disruption on the screen.
(Basically it looks as thought the screen were one of those 16-tile
puzzles being randomly scrambled.) The screen comes back to normal as
soon as traffic stops.

I tried to use iwconfig to reduce the power the card was using, but
failed, and mail on the Familiar list suggests that there's a bug
in iwconfig around that. I gather I can write stuff to /proc/net/wireless
to adjust power usage, but I couldn't find anything in the wiki or
in the Linux Wireless HOWTO about how to do that.

So my questions are:

(1) Is there anything I can do to eliminate or decrease this problem with
this card?

(2) If the answer to (1) is yes, and it involves reducing the power usage
of the card, how do I do that?

(3) Is there any risk involved in using the card? (E.g., if it messes
up my LCD display, is it likely to mess up the contents of RAM as well?)

Thanks,

-j.
